Affiliate Disclosure
This page explains, in full, how Astral Base is paid and what that payment does and does not affect.
The arrangement
Astral Base is published by BHP CONSULTING. The site contains affiliate links to one product, World of Warships. Those links are provided through an affiliate network acting for the advertiser.
When you follow one of those links, download the game, and create and activate an account, the affiliate network pays BHP CONSULTING a commission. That is the only way the site earns money. It carries no display advertising, no sponsored articles and no paid placements, and it does not sell anything itself.
What it means for you
The commission is paid by the advertiser's network, not by you. Following our link does not add anything to what you pay the vendor, now or later, and you can reach the vendor's website directly without using our link if you prefer.
The link points directly to the network's tracking address; we do not route it through this site or rewrite it. You can see where it goes by hovering over it or checking your browser's status bar.
What the commission does and does not influence
We would rather be exact about this than reassuring.
It does decide which product is covered. The site covers World of Warships because of this commercial relationship. We do not cover other products, and we do not claim to compare the market. The about page says the same.
It does not decide what we say about the product. The product entry uses only the information supplied with the programme, says plainly what that information does not state, and lists who the link is not suitable for. We do not describe features, prices or offers our source does not state, and we do not publish an expired code as though it were current.
It does not decide the order or content of the guides. The glossary and the guides are organised around the questions readers need answered, in the order a reader is likely to need them: whether a game will run, how to set up an account, what purchases cost, how to check a classification, and what to do when something goes wrong. They do not promote the product.
How paid links are labelled
Every paid link is a button labelled "Visit the World of Warships website", with a line directly beneath it saying that it is a paid link. Paid links carry the HTML attribute rel="sponsored", which tells search engines they are commercial. Links to government bodies and to other pages on this site are never paid.
Trademarks
World of Warships and all other product names, logos and brands mentioned on this site are the property of their respective owners. Astral Base is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them.
