Cookie Policy

Effective date: 1 October 2026

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store, so that the site can recognise your browser on a later visit. Cookies are used for things like keeping you signed in, remembering preferences, and measuring or tracking visits.

This site sets no cookies

Astral Base does not set any cookies. It does not allow any third party to set cookies through it either. There is:

Because nothing is stored on your device, there is nothing to ask your consent for, and so there is no cookie banner. A banner on a site that sets no cookies would be misleading.

What happens instead

When you visit a page, the web server operated by our hosting provider records an ordinary log entry: your IP address, your browser's user agent, the page requested and the date and time. This happens on the server, not in your browser, and does not involve a cookie. How long these logs are kept, and why, is set out in our privacy policy.

The site's fonts are those already installed on your device. No font, script, stylesheet or image is loaded from any other website, so viewing a page here does not send a request to any third party.

When you follow an affiliate link, you go to another website. That site, and the affiliate network that records the visit, may set their own cookies under their own policies. This cookie policy covers astralbase.online only.

No other browser storage

The site does not use localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB or any other browser storage. It does not use browser fingerprinting or any other technique to recognise a returning visitor. The site's only script opens and closes the menu on small screens, and it stores nothing.

Controlling cookies in your browser

Although this site sets none, you can control cookies for every site you visit. All major browsers let you see which cookies are stored, delete them, block them entirely, or block only third-party cookies. These settings are usually found under Privacy or Security in the browser's settings. Private or incognito windows delete cookies when the window is closed. Blocking cookies has no effect on how this site works. The eSafety Commissioner and the OAIC both publish general guidance on managing your privacy online, which covers browser settings in more detail.

If this ever changes

If cookies or any similar technology are introduced on this site in future, this page will be updated first, and a working consent mechanism will be in place before any cookie is set. Nothing that requires consent will be switched on before you have been asked.
